About StowOS
Built inside a self-storage business, for the work its PMS could not hold.
StowOS did not start as a software idea. It started as the running of a UK self-storage operation, and the discovery that the most important parts of the job — following up, checking, handing over, deciding — lived everywhere except the system that was meant to run the business.
01Where it came from
Written against real Mondays.
The PMS knew every unit, agreement and payment. It did not know that a quote sent on Friday had gone unanswered, that the fire doors had not been checked while the manager was on holiday, or that the rate increase agreed in the office had never been entered. Those gaps were filled by effort, memory and a growing number of spreadsheets.
StowOS was built to close them, and it has been developed against the real events of a working operation — real enquiries, real move-outs, real maintenance and real Storman data — rather than a demonstration dataset. That is why the product talks about cadences, evidence gates and writeback verification rather than dashboards: those are the things that turned out to matter.
We are a small team and we work closely with a small number of operators. If you are introducing StowOS, you will be talking to the people who build it.
02Who it is for
Operators who run lean and want to run tight.
StowOS is designed first for independent and regional UK operators — typically one to fifteen sites, with a small management team and no spare people to chase things. Indoor, container and hybrid sites are all in scope. It is equally built to stand up to the scrutiny of larger multi-site operators, owners and their advisers, because the controls that help a lean team are the same ones an investor asks about.
- Owner-operators
- who want the business to run the same way when they are not on site
- Operations and commercial leads
- who need follow-up, pricing and site standards to hold across sites
- Portfolio owners
- who need evidence, not anecdotes, about how each site is run
03Principles
What we will not compromise on.
- 01
The PMS is right about the past
We do not try to replace the system of record. We build the layer that acts on it, and we respect its boundaries.
- 02
Every action has a reason
If StowOS asks someone to do something, it can say why, and which rule decided it. Unexplained work is not work people trust.
- 03
Done means evidenced
Completion is a fact with a time, a name and, where it matters, a photograph — not a tick someone remembers making.
- 04
People decide consequential things
StowOS prepares decisions about prices and customers. A named person with the authority to make them does.
- 05
No claims we cannot show
We would rather walk you through the mechanism than quote a number we cannot stand behind. You will not find invented statistics here.
Talk to the people who build it.
A walkthrough is a conversation, not a pitch. Bring a real week — the enquiries, the move-outs, the maintenance — and we will show you where each piece would sit in StowOS, and be straight about where it would not.
